How can I tell if corn on the cob has gone bad?

If mold is present, the husks will turn brown or black, as will the kernels. In extreme case, the kernels will also show signs decay. Parts of the kernels may appear to be eaten away.

Dry, white husks indicate the corn has dried out, as do hard kernels.
