Navigating the Site
To reach a Product Category page:
Product categories are listed and pictured on the home page. You can reach a Product Category page by clicking on the link below the picture of the type of food you want or by using the pull-down menu titled Products. The Product Category page gives general information about all foods in that category.
To reach a Product Type page:
You can reach a Product Type page via the Products pull-down menu by moving the cursor to the right from the Product Category. Alternatively, you can click on a Product Category picture on the homepage to see a box of all Product Types associated with that category. Clicking on a Product Type will take you to the Product Type page, which gives general information about all products of that type.
To reach a specific product:
You can reach specific products via the Product Index, which lists every product on the site. You can get to the Product Index by clicking on the Products pull-down menu, or by clicking on the Products link at the bottom of any page.
Alternatively, you can reach a specific product page by hovering your mouse over the Products pull-down menu and moving the cursor to the right from the Product Categories and Product Types.
For example, if you hover your mouse over Products, then hover over the Meat and Poultry category, you'll see the three Product Types associated with the Meat and Poultry category. Moving the cursor down to hover over Meat will expand the menu and show all eight specific products associated with the Product Type of Meat. Clicking on Ham and Bacon will take you to the Ham and Bacon product page.
Product pages include expiration tables which list safe storage time frames for products stored in the pantry, refrigerator, and freezer. Product pages also include handling tips and popular Q/As on that product.
To reach FAQs and Tips:
FAQs and Tips can be reached via the FAQs pull-down menu, the Tips pull-down menu, or the search feature. You can view the categories of FAQs and Tips by hovering your mouse over the respective pull-down menus. For example, if you hover your mouse over the FAQs pull-down menu, and click on FAQs on Bacteria, you'll see the list of all FAQs on Bacteria.
Alternatively, you can reach the FAQs Index and Tips Index by clicking on the FAQs or Tips pull-down menu, or by clicking on the FAQs or Tips links from the bottom of any page. The FAQs Index and Tips Index list all FAQs and Tips on the site.
Using the “Search” feature:
The search feature can also help you find Q/As on a product, an FAQ, or a Tips topic. It will show you any spot on the site that a particular word or phrase was used. This will help you find out if the information you’re seeking is on the site.
