Can I freeze fresh apples?

Yes, with the exception of Golden Delicious and McIntosh varieties, which don't freeze well. Slice and freeze apples in a single layer on a sheet tray, then transfer them to a sealable freezer bag. Press down on the bag prior to sealing it in order to remove as much oxygen from the bag as possible. This will help prevent freezer burn. The apples may lose texture, but they will be ideal for baking or sauces..
