What storage tips make margarine last longer?

Here are the experts’ tips:

  • Buy an amount that you’ll use within a month, the shelf life of an opened container.
  • Get margarine home and into the refrigerator quickly.
  • Once open, margarine should be stored in an airtight container in the butter compartment of a 40°F (or lower) refrigerator.
  • Margarine absorbs other food odors, so keep it away from onions and garlic.
