What shelf-life information is on the packaging of chocolate candy?

Chocolate candy may carry a "sell by" or "use by" date determined by the processor. These dates are about food quality, not safety.  Food quality refers to such characteristics as taste, texture, color, scent, and the nutritional value indicated on the package.
