How should turkey be handled from store to home?

Quickly. The vast majority of turkeys are sold frozen and, as such, don't present potential problems with handling. Nevertheless, the supermarket should be your last stop before going home. The turkey you pick up at the store has been kept very cold to retard bacterial growth and increase shelf life. Don't break the cold chain. Get the turkey home fast, and refrigerate it immediately.
