How should packaged deli meat be handled prior to eating?

Wash your hands in warm, soapy water for 20 seconds before and after handling deli meat. Groups most at risk of contracting listeriosis (including people over 60, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems) should cook deli meats to 165°F  immediately prior to consumption.
