How should I handle other ingredients while preparing guacamole?

Because virtually all guacamole ingredients, from tomatoes to onions to spices, may be contaminated, the same rules apply as for handling avocados. To avoid cross-contamination, wash your hands in hot, soapy water before and after using each raw ingredient.  Likewise, disinfect your cutting surfaces and utensils before and after using each ingredient.
