Is color an indicator that chicken is spoiled?

Skin color varies from creamy to yellow on healthy chicken. Gray or faded chicken may indicate spoilage, particularly if accompanied by changes in texture and odor. Spoiled chicken will feel slimy to the touch and smell rotten.  The cooked product may have an "off" flavor.
