Can I tell by looking at eggs if they're okay to eat?

A clear egg white indicates that the egg is aging, and a pinkish hue means spoilage. On the other hand, a blood spot in the yolk does NOT mean that the egg is unsafe to eat (However, eating this egg is forbidden by Jewish (kosher) dietary law.)
