Are there any health risks associated with eating ice cream ?

Homemade ice cream can make you sick if it contains unpasteurized eggs. If commercial ice cream contains eggs, they are pasteurized. As a result, salmonella and other food-borne pathogens generally aren't of concern.
If left out at room temperature, ice cream can become contaminated with staphylococci, a bacteria that can cause illness.
