Why is the crust on my leftover pizza so soggy?

It may be the toppings. Items such as peppers, mushrooms, onion, and sausage may weep-- or release moisture--when pizza is cooked, especially if the pizza formed ice crystals during freezing. Pizza crust may absorb the moisture. Excessive moisture absorption may render the crust mushy and inedible, even after the pizza is reheated.
