How long after purchase is it advisable to keep fresh raw lamb?

Whole-muscle lamb, including chops and roasts, should be consumed or frozen within 3-5 days of purchase.

 

Ground lamb should be consumed or frozen within 1-2 days.

 

Lamb frozen at a temperature of 0°F or lower will keep indefinitely.  For best quality, consume frozen roasts and chops within 6-9 months and ground lamb within 3-4 months.
